Note to reader: A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and I believe that sometimes we need a beautiful reminder like this.
A Letter to Black Women
by Ella Naj
On my timeline, I see a lot of posts about what black women aren’t, about how broken we are, how we should settle and just plain not doing or giving enough.
We need to stop that narrative:
Dear Black Women,
You are amazing. You are beautiful. Your love and selflessness is like none other. You are strong. You are fierce. You are light. You are brilliant and overachieve on the regular. Your only instructions are to find your authentic selves and aim to be the best version of that. Anybody that tells you otherwise is a hater and you don’t need that negativity in your life.
I love you and proud to be one of you.
