A friend of mine posted this quote by Maya Angelou, and I was so touched by it that I had to make a pictogram. In your darkest days, may you always remember your beauty and strength within.
“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Do not complain. Make every effort to change things you do not like. If you cannot make a change, change the way you have been thinking. You might find a new solution.”
― Maya Angelou,
I loved hearing Maya Angelou reading this book. Her voice is so calming; yet, one full of wisdom and experience. There were times that I shed a tear as Ms. Angelou read a letter to all of her daughters, as this letter was also written to me. Many times, I thought it was explicitly written just for me due to shared experiences and understanding. I recommend this book for young women graduating high school, mothers, middle-aged women, and our elders. I believe that whether you are young or old, you can glean some beautiful life advice. I will be buying this book to add to my literary greats.
