Trumpcare #UnAffordableCareAct

This proposed Trumpcare plan must be created for Top 10% of this country. Who will be able to afford this if the states don’t cover it? Definitely not me…

From Vox:

States could also opt out of Obamacare’s essential health benefits requirement. This is the core set of medical services that the Affordable Care Act requires all insurers to cover. It includes 10 types of coverage:

  • Outpatient care without a hospital admission, known as ambulatory patient services
  • Emergency services
  • Hospitalization
  • Pregnancy, maternity, and newborn care
  • Mental health and substance use disorder services, including counseling and psychotherapy
  • Prescription drugs
  • Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices, which help people with injuries and disabilities to recover
  • Laboratory services
  • Preventive care, wellness services, and chronic disease management
  • Pediatric services, including oral and vision care for children

By removing all of these essential services, the Mango Mussolini may believe he has trumped the political system. Let it be known, however, that this is only the beginning. When you mess with affordable care this much, there will be a major price to pay. Your supporters will become your greatest enemies. Lest we forget Eric Cantor…

These services are essential for a reason. Don’t create a sick and deprived nation. You can read the full article on Vox.

Trumpkins Run Amok

Hey Trumpkins…what say you? Do you feel hoodwinked?

In the words of the great Malcolm X:

“Oh, and I say it again, you’ve been had. You’ve been took. You’ve been hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Led astray. Run amok!”

  • Travel ban – nope
  • Trumpcare – nope
  • The Wall – you know that’s not happening

I would love to hear what all the Trump supporters have to say now. #Hoodwinked #Bamboozled

Keep Fighting #RESISTANCE

I saw this on Facebook, and I needed to share here. We will not lose. Please share.

Hey activist friends: despite the headlines, you are making a difference. In the words of #Banksy: “If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.”For everyone who DID something, small or big, your efforts have been successful. Because of you:

1. Federal hiring freeze is reversed for VA (#VeteranAffairs).

2. Court ordered partial stay of the immigration ban for those with valid visas.

3. #Greencard holders can get back in country.

4. #Uber pledges $3M and immigration lawyers for its drivers after #DeleteUber trends on Twitter.

5. #Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) enrollment ads are still going to air. #ACA

6. The #ACLU raised 24M over the weekend (normally 3-4Mil/year).

7. HHS, EPA, #USDA gag order lifted.

8. #EPA climate data no longer scrubbed from website.

9. More people of different career/religious/economic/race backgrounds are considering running for political office than ever before.

10. MOST importantly, since we live in a participatory democracy, the people are engaged.

While more is needed, sometimes you have to celebrate your wins. Stay vigilant, but also take self care seriously. Activist burnout is a thing, as is protest fatigue. Marathon, don’t sprint. #RESIST

The Hypocrisy of Our Nation

I saw this on Facebook last night, and I had to share. Unfortunately, I do not know the original author so I cannot give credit. Yet, it was so powerful and truthful that it had to go beyond my Facebook Page. I hope that you will share this message as well. If I find the author, I will be sure to come back and update this post.

Let’s talk about hypocrisy.

If you voted for Trump because of Hillary’s email “problem” but are not upset that the Trump administration is using a private email server and unsecured phones, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe Jesus was a persecuted refugee fleeing Herod, but support the ban on Syrian refugees, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe life begins at conception, but support defunding the countries number one source of prenatal care, planned parenthood, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe the mainstream media lies but believe Trump when he spouts verifiable lies, you are a hypocrite.

If you dismiss the AP, Reuters or NPR as biased media but accept everything Fox news says, you are a hypocrite.

If you think all life is sacred, but do not support reasonable gun control, you are a hypocrite.

If you think children are the future, but support reducing funds for SNAP, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe in education, but dismiss evolution or climate change as hoaxes, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe in the sovereignty of the United States, but support forced incursions on Native American lands, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe that we need to drain the swamp of Washington but support Trump’s cabinet picks, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe in the Constitution, but support indiscriminate detainment and torture, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe our troops lives have worth, but support Trump’s claims to foreign countries natural resources, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe that unborn black babies lives matter, but black lives don’t matter, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe that we deserve life, liberty and happiness, but support taking away healthcare from millions of Americans, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe that the practice of your religion is more important than the practice of no religion or a different religion, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe in equal rights under the law, but don’t support marriage equality and non discrimination for LGBTQ Americans, you are a hypocrite.

If you are glad that California or New York do not decide national policy for you, but insist on forcing your red state policies on others, you are a hypocrite.

If you believe in the first amendment, but call people who peacefully protest the President as hooligans, you are a hypocrite.

If you are an American but think dissent is disrespectful, you are a hypocrite.

If you think that anything that has happened over the last week is normal or acceptable, then you have not been paying attention.

Tears of Trump Supporters

GOPocalypse recently published an article about Trump supporters who were upset about changes to the ACA, such as the pre-existing conditions clause, and its journey to repeal. I realize GOPocalypse is not a neutral publication, but I had to share some of the tweets.

@realDonaldTrump So back to a choice between rent & insurance again now that I know I have serious health issues? Voted for you, now worried
—worldgonecrazy (@jenworkmail38) January 12, 2017

@realDonaldTrump I voted for you. I have Crohn’s and private insurance. I’m 61. I must have pre existing conditions in my insurance plan.

—Joy Ryman-Snow (@SnowRyman) January 13, 2017

This is a perfect example of why you need to understand what candidates stand for when they are running for office. These “former” Trump supporters are boohooing because the steps to repeal ACA has already begun. Maybe they were ignorant (as in unaware) to know that ACA and Obamacare are the same thing. Maybe they didn’t believe him because he’s a liar and flip-flopper. Who knows? But now they will be sitting on the sidelines praying for good health and asking God, Allah, Buddha, or just family and friends to help them pay obscene medical bills and prescriptions.
